Dedicated & Committed Quarter Horse Breeder
Specializing in linebreeding Poco Tivio – King – Poco Bueno bloodlines.
Offering prospects for: cutting, roping, reining, barrels, stock/versatility, sorting, penning, working cowhorse, trail riding, ranch work.
We began breeding quarter horses in 1980 under the original name of High Meadows Ranch; our facilities at that time were near Crockett, Texas.  In 1986 we moved to our present location in Lockhart, Texas and changed our name to Plum Creek QUARTER HORSES.
The focus of the breeding program at Plum Creek QUARTER HORSES has always been to preserve and enhance the Poco Tivio - King - Poco Bueno bloodlines through linebreeding.  Three Bars and Leo are the preferences for outcross blood at Plum Creek QUARTER HORSES because these “nicks” have proven very successful throughout quarter horse history, even unto today.
Poco Tivio died in 1976, King in 1958, Poco Bueno in 1969, Three Bars in 1968 and Leo in 1967.  Own sons and daughters of any of these great horses are few to non-existent today.  Without concentration of the blood of these great horses through linebreeding, it will soon be lost.
Plum Creek QUARTER HORSES has been fortunate to have four own daughters of Poco Tivio, an own son of Poco Tivio, a linebred Three Bars mare, a granddaughter of Leo, a 43.7% linebred King stallion and a 31.25% linebred King mare as its “root” broodstock.  Plum Creek QUARTER HORSES is now into its fourth generation of producing quarter horses based on this breeding program.  Some of the mares and stallions we produce are retained and added to our breeding stock – this ensures that concentration of the desired bloodlines can continue.  And we sometimes find an outside mare or stallion to purchase that enhances our breeding program.  You will recognize a consistency in the look of Plum Creek QUARTER HORSES.  Other desirable characteristics they carry include: high degree of intelligence, large rear end, good muscling, good bone structure and good disposition.
At Plum Creek QUARTER HORSES we always have young horses for sale; we also stand our breeding stallions to the public.  Consider Plum Creek QUARTER HORSES when searching for your next cutting, reining, roping, barrels, stock/versatility, sorting, penning, working cowhorse, trail riding, ranch use prospect.  Request our current Sales Brochure and/or Stallion Service Brochure for complete information; these will provide you with photos, percentages of blood, pedigree, breeding fees and so forth
